Development-Pink

I decided to try out pink as it is my favourite colour so it represents me.

Development-Traditional Camouflage

These are my numbers in traditional camouflage colours, I decided to change and experiment with the colours because I feel that the colours are to similar to Michael Craig-Martin in my previous design. I also change and add some numbers to see if they can be more camouflaged.

Development

I decided to take the numbers and clock hands from one of my clocks, make them into their simplest form and outlines and experiment in the style of Michael Craig-Martin.

Salvador Dali

Salvador Dali was a surrealist I decided to look at his work because I have chosen to represent myself through clocks.

Clocks

I decided to represent myself through clocks as clocks represent time.

Patrick Caulfield

Patrick Caulfield is most associated with pop art. Most of his work is an alternative way of looking at things, he often uses heavy black outlines in a cartoon like way. I also find it interesting that in the painting 'After Lunch' the picture on the wall is more realistic than the every day things around it.

Michael Craig-Martin

Michael Craig-Martin is a contemporary pop artist, most of his work is made up of modern day objects which have been randomly put together. He uses bright and vibrant colours which strike the eye. His composition is interesting as he manipulates the sizes of objects like the sunglasses are bigger than than the chair which makes it eye-catching because it is different and unseen. He also makes the objects into their most simple forms. If he did not manipulate size and use bright and vibrant colours his work would be boring as we see these objects everyday. What makes his work different and interesting is how he turns these everyday objects into eye-catching pieces of work.

Personal Camouflage

I have been set a summer brief to design my own personal camouflage using shapes that represent my identity, the shapes will come from my personal history represented by a timeline of 5 objects which has 5 different incarnations or generations.
